    Hello Folks,

My Bosch WFD 2060 washing machine has just died on me it looks to be in excellent condition and is about 5 – 6 years old. I have had the lid off and can confirm that there is power (240 vac) available at the power plug that plugs into the main PCB control board, however with power turned on at the wall socket there is no sign of life from the machine in any mode, i can’t hear any solenoids or relays clicking, none of the LED’s light up on the facia , etc. Basically it just seems dead.

I’m going to work my way through and check out as many of the components as i can with the limited no specialist test equipment i have available to me ( DVM , etc ).

At the moment I’m suspecting the main board is the problem as it has power available but doesn’t light up, but would welcome any other advice on likely suspects i can check out before i have to get the wallet out and start spending. So far i have only had to replace the Rubber door seal and the motor brushes on this machine which should give you an idea of its age and my competence.

BTW, i should add that although I’m not a domestic electrician I am a qualified Aircraft electrician and so have a healthy respect for normal safety aspects of working on live circuits/lethal voltages.

    Hi
Possibly poor solder joint on leg/s of selector unit as they attach to PCB.
Unplug appliance if you are to attempt yourself :plug:

Looks like one of the PCB tracks has burnt out in the area that you mentioned.

Trouble is, was it a dodgy solder track that just overheated and burnt out, or did something else further down the line cause a short circuit ???

Hmmm I think i’ll try to repair this one first and see what happens, then maybe get a new/exchange board. I’d hate to buy a new board and then watch it fry.

Thats not the fault I had in mind 😯
I would check each component for earth leakage and any shorts before repairing/replacing module 😀

Looking at the PCB a bit more closely I’ve found 2 x burnt out tracks, a Transistor that has a burst casing so thats probably damaged. On the other side of the board there is a lot of overheating damage in the main power supply area . There is a Transformer that looks fried.

    Basically the board is shot.
