ParticipantHi,
Never had to do bearings on one of these so….
play in the drum, is it likely to need a spider as well?
Can’t find the model on Connect so are bearings available separately and would I need a puller or would I best get a rear tub?
Can any one give part nos. and approx prices?
Thanks

Hi
Rear tub will come complete with bearings and water seal and you will most likely need the front tub ( 217424) as you have to cut the locking nibs to seperate the old tub halves therefore rendering it u/s.
I would also replace the suspension legs (448032 the pair) as the new ones are more substantial.
Make sure you dont forget to fit them onto locating pegs of tub before offering the two halves of tank together 👿 been there and have got the t-shirt :rolls:Greg

Thanks lads,
Not sure I’ll live long enough to do all that lot, and customer definitely won’t pay for it so looks like a BER.

Since I heard about the welded tubs on the newer Zanussi machines I have been recommending Bosch. Are you saying the newer Bosch machines are also effectively scrap when the bearings fail?

I seem to recollect that you will need a fitting kit to do a bearing change. It will enable you to screw the two halves back together Hotpoint WMA style. I know that is definately the case on some bosch models (the Bosch man told me so). I could be wrong though, so don’t quote me on it!
Could be 264574 “repair set” looking at quickfinder.

All you need is the screws to refit the two halves. No special tools required other than torx screwdriver bit.
Much better than a wma unless it the Waa cheapy. in and out within the hour!!
