Bosch WFF 1401 Will Not Spin

Hi

I have a Bosch WFF 1401 which complete’s the wash cycle, but now refuses to spin. It just sits there full of water. Sometimes I can hear a clicking inside.

Is there anything I can do (or replace) to remedy this?

Check the brushes, unplug appliance first 😉

Clicking noise may well be the obligatory 5p coin in the pump – it’s small enough to get through the filter.

There is a filter and emergency drain hose under the kick board, so drain it down and check.

Thanks for the replies folks!

I’ve done a little more “research”.

I’ve turned the washer off, taken out all the water, and tried to do a “just spin” programme. The drum doesn’t run and there’s this noise that sounds like one cog wheel turning against another that’s not turning – almost like a gearbox crunch.

When powered down the drum turns freely and there is no noise. The sound is coming from beneath the drum at the back.

Whilst I can build websites and programme computers I’m not particularly well up on washer bits and pieces – so if anyone has any pointers or suggestions please bear in mind I’m a bit of a novice (but prepared to have a go!)

OK, so based on that I suggest that my colleague gegsy was correct in his earlier assumption, and that the motor brushes will need replacing to cure the fault.

Do please contact a local independent engineer in your Postcode district who can fix it for you at modest cost. 🙂
