ParticipantHi
Just read the thread below (leaking Bosch) with interest as we have just bought a wff 2001 second hand last night and when I did a google search here in NZ the thread came up…and I need help with what is what.
5/6/7 cycles. What does that mean ?(No manual came with the machine) and is there a cycle that I can do cold…or nearly cold that isnt going to take 2 1/2 hrs like the 90 deg one did or 1.55 like the 40 deg coloured did.?
I realise now after reading your posts that it takes that long to heat the water etc….which means more money for power etc so dont want to do that (as electricity like everything else is expensive in nz)I had a gorenje pacific (I know…old, but bought it new 15 yrs ago when Yugoslavia was yugoslavia!) but it just stopped 2 days ago…and too hard to get parts etc and so bought the bosch for $160.
any help with what the numbers mean would be great!! thank you
Nicola
ps 15 deg easy care cycle with ‘short wash’ button pushed in has been the quickest at 53 mins. 30 deg coloured 63 mins. Just want to know what 5/6/7 means!!? 🙄March 30, 2006 at 8:25 am #171489Penguin45

You should be able to down load a user manual through http://www.bshappliancecare.com, follow the links into Partfinder and there is a download option.
The programmes are slow because of the low water levels, not due to constant heating – it’s actually a very economical appliance on both water and energy.

Penguin45.Thank you Penguin, that is great news about the economy bit!
I have emailed mks- spare parts and grovelled big time about having a manual emailed over…or can they just tell me what 5/6/7 means on the dial if they cant (would be nice to have a manual though..to know how to best use the machine 😳 ).
will await their reply.
Thanks for the link, would never have known where to look.

5 – starching – add starch agent to drawer whilst it’s filling. Runs approx 25 mins, short spin to finish.
6 – soaking – does what is says, runs 2.5 hrs (!), select a spin to complete.
7 – pump out only – use in combination with programmes with rinse hold to avoid spinning. There should be a programme strip behind the soap drawer front – look for a red or blue strip at the right hand edge.
