ParticipantMy trusty WFF 2001 has suddenly refused to start any wash cycle. I press the start button, the “Main Wash” light comes on then nothing. No drum movement, no sound of any water being taken in. No sound at all.
It is the same whichever wash cycle or temperature I select. I just removed a second load of washing from the machine and put in a third load so it had been running perfectly right up to the time of this problem.
All the lights toggle on/off when pressed. The door will release properly if I turn off the machine and wait a couple of minutes. But it will just refuse to start any wash cycle.
Can any one help? Desperate to finish off post holiday washing!

Will it spin?? If set to that instead of a wash cycle.

Has the water been turned off to the m/c ?.
Or are the inlet hoses kinked ?.

Water is not turned off and no kinks in the water hoses. The machine had just finished one wash cycle succesfully, and when I reloaded it, it refused to start a new wash cycle.
If I look inside what should I be looking for?

Hi
With the appliance un-plugged :plug: you will need to check the resistence of the three fill valves individually and disconnected in turn, with a multimeter. (app 2-4kOhms) as boro mentioned.
If in any doubt, please use the repair link below off my sig.Greg

Hi Judy
Re your email regarding how to access the valves.
You will need to remove lid and the valves are situated at the rear of the appliance.
Un plug appliance before as always.Greg

Thanks Greg – I didn’t have anything better to do this evening anyway!
If we discover there is no resistance, can you give me some idea of what the solution might be and if it worth repairing?
I’ll contact you later when we have sussed the valve resistances.

Hi Greg
We have established that it is the hot water inlet valve which has gone. Where would you recommend we get a new one and how much is it likely to be?

Hi Dave
Thanks – the one we have has a red casing not white and the solenoid has the number 303 7041 AB0 on it. Will this be the same one? I am sure it must be as it is certainly the hot water inlet valve on the machine.
This forum is pretty impressive for help – thanks a lot everyone, particularly on a Saturday night!

The valve fitted to your appliance has been superceded by the one illustrated in the shop@ facility. Manufacturers do do this in the search for reliability and/or cost saving.
