ParticipantHi everyone
I’m new here and I have a problem with my Bosch WFF 2001 washing machine that you may be able to help with.
I was washing a few days ago when a very loud thumping noise came from my washer, which was rocking from side to side. I turned it off and waited until I could open the door to open it (no water as just on spin cycle!).
The clothes were not all on one side of the drum together, but the big rubber seal (sorry, don’t know the correct term for it) that the door fits into appeared to have twisted to the left a little on the inside (where it contacts the drum). I know this because I looked at it and the drain holes?? were not at the bottom but had rotated by 10-15 degrees to the left. This also pulled on the rest of the rubber so that it is stretched and protruding a little into the door opening.
The big rubber seal does not appear to have torn at all anywhere.
Is there something I can do myself to fix it?
or, is it still ok to use?
or (last one) is it better to have it looked at by a pro as soon as I can? Many thanks in advance for any replies

Possibly overloading your machine has caused some clothing to have caught between the inner and outer drum? The door seal has been wrenched around a bit and needs refitting correctly. The front panel has to come off for that and I seriously recommend expert help to fix and check your machine over (see link below 🙂 )

ParticipantThe washer definitely wasn’t overloaded as there was only a couple of items in it, and they didn’t weigh much either.
I can see your point about one of the items getting caught and dragging it around a bit, and the fact that I will need some expert help
Many thanks

Another possiblity is that the suspension has failed (spring come off)?
Best way to tell is if the inner drum does not line up with the position of the door opening, then the drum has dropped! 🙁

More likely the one of the top springs has snapped, happens from time to time; can be a devil to put new one on.
