Bosch WFF1201GB/01 FD7901 Washing machine

Customer complains that when wash programme is set to 1 and water temp to say 95c, when the machine is switched on, the programe selector dial immediately advances to programme 3.

It fills ok, and there is motor action. The machine will then complete the full programme without heating the water.

Found heater open circuit, ordered up new one, fitted it. Set programme as above. It still advances to 3 of it’s own accord. But it does now heat the water and complete prog.

Any ideas why the programme advances on it’s own ? or is this normal

It fills on hot valve only on Prog 1 (on temp settings 60 degs and above) then advances to 3…the heating phase 😉

3 is the light wash and fill position – 1 instructs the processor that you want the ultra-super-extra long wash, so instruction accepted, it moves to 3 to fill. Heat is at the teeny weeny dot on the programmme dial.

So job done, and I am wiser.

Strange customer hadn’t noticed it before, she has had the machine for 5 years.
