Bosch WFF2000 spin problem

I have a 12 year old Bosch WFF2000 that works well until the spin cycle. When it picks up speed during the spin, the machine is incredibly noisy. I have checked the drum springs which are all in tact, so too are the drum shock absorbers. I suspect that the shock absorbers are at fault, but I would like to be certain before ordering new ones. Is there anyway I can test them? Could the problem be something else?

probably bearings try spinning the drum by hand with nothing in and see if you can hear the noise, with the shock absorbers if you press down on the drum its like your car shock absorbers it should only bounce back once not keep bouncing.
If you do intend to have a go power off first!

Thanks Phil. I replaced the bearing about a year ago, so I was hoping it wasn’t going to be that. Luckily, the bearing was quiet, but the drum bounced all over the place. Cheers, Adrian

Well I replaced both shock absorbers and it’s slightly better but not fixed. The spin is still noisy! It looks like the drum is spinning slightly off centre at full speed. The machine had a new drum and spindle + bearing just over a year ago, so I would be surprised if these had failed. Any other ideas? What about the springs that the drum hangs from?

Sounds like the bearings to me.
Front bearing may have broken up so the shaft is just running on the back bearing only.
Power off when working.

I ended up stripping the machine right down, and removing the drum. Everything seemed in order, until I started the rebuild, and noticed that the clips that hold the front panel, and weight on to the drum, were loose. I bent them to make sure they held the front plate tight, and haven’t had a problem since! Thanks to everyone who responded to my post. 😀
