ParticipantHi, I have a trusty Bosch WFF2000 that has developed an annoying fault. When we put in a fairly normal sized load it almost always does part of the cycle and then skips to the end without properly draining and spinning. The pre-wash light is doing single flashes with roughly a 2 sec pause in-between which I thought indicated a fault with the water inlet but it seems to be filling with water ok.
If I open the door, take some washing out and restart the wash it completes the cycle normally.
I’ve replaced the pump earlier this year and I replaced the brushes last year.
Any suggestions on what to check will be gratefully received.Thanks.

I wonder if you mean WFL2000UK…? 😕
Anyway, likely as not the pump is worn out or just sticking….you can get a new one by clicking here 🙂

ParticipantRe: Bosch WFF2000GB/12 prewash single flash and not spinning
Hi, it’s definitely a WFF2000 but I should have put GB/12 rather than UK.
Changing the pump certainly seems to be the common answer to most problems with this machine but I’m puzzled why it could be the pump as the problem is definitely load dependent, e.g. if I put a small load into the machine it never fails. The pump is only about 6 months old and still appears to be in good condition.
My guess is that it’s become overly sensitive to out-of-balance loads as it is guaranteed to go wrong if I put a fleece jacket in the load along with other lighter things.
Thanks.

Given the age of the machine, it’s probably worth checking the brushes in the motor. Some useful info here:

Spin can become intermittent as the brushes wear out.Helo’s comment re out of balance is equally valid – some machines are sensitive to a load which will not even out during the “distribute” part of the drain sequence.
Power off if you are going to investigate the motor.

Any chance you could count the flashes in between the 2 sec delay?
