ParticipantAnyone have any ideas as to why my washing is not smelling of fabric conditioner anymore? Sometimes, after the load has finished, the fabric conditioner compartment is still full of water. 🙁
Any help would be appreciated 😀

There’s a little chamber at the back of the drawer. This should sython the water away, unless it is blocked? :innocent:

Fab conditioner is basically fat, it will build up and solidify over time. you have a blockage

ok looks like half my post went missing,
what i meant to say was it’s basically a fibre lubricant /relaxant and that over time you get a residue left over that looks like fat 😳Actually if you use too much conditioner it can clogg up your pipework, kind of like drinking too much full fat milk and clogging your arteries. 😆 ok now i’m digging an even bigger hole for myself trying to wriggle out of the fat issue. 😳 but using words like cationic surfactants makes you sound like a mad Scientist 😉

Not at all Chriztopher, in fact I was just teasing you with my reply to your comment anyway. 😉
Not everyone has the benefit of knowing the chemical build-up of the average fabric conditioner on the supermarket shelves anyway do they?
They wouldn’t necessarily appreciate that they are in fact fatty amine salts that operate effectively through varying Ph levels. And even through regular use in the normal recommended doseage level, will in fact easily tend to clog up the dispenser channel. And regular (weekly at least) cleaning of the dispenser drawer is therefore required! 8)
P.S I do hope all this is helping Mooker with the problem by the way? A good scrub up of the dispenser drawer is a must AND scrub up inside the dispenser cavity too by the way!
Hope that helps sort it? 😀

No worries M. taken with the pinch of salt as intended. 😆
Yes, these areas can clog up very easily and should be regularly cleaned. The regular “hot service wash” we should all do, on most systems does not put hot water through the dispenser drawer and therefore will not help break-up these fatty deposits. ( design improvement idea 💡 )
elbow grease required here, oh no! more references to fats, I’m going……
Old bottle cleaning brushes are great for this by the way.Good luck

Hmmmm – well – I think I know what you mean 😆 😆
So just to re-cap. Are there any pipes that need cleaning that might contain “fat” 😉 and if so, where are they 😀

No probs (you could have deleted the last one if you wanted to using the “X” in the top right corner of the post you wish to delete) 😉

No, just take your dispenser drawer out once in a while (try weekly for starters) and give it a rinse out, especially the fabric conditioner syphon channel. 😉

The soap drawer has been re-designed for the new range of Bosch/Siemens washing machines. 8)
The re-design is mainly for the problem, where the water jet shoots down into the detergent, and the detergent flies straight back up and blocks the jets. Apparently, that shouldn’t happen anymore 🙂

Double post deleted.
Remove soap drawer and look up into the roof of the soap box. If it’s black, clean it. Then, you need something skinny and flexible – a Tyrap is ideal – find the four square holes in the middle of the roof section and rod them out. Vigourously. You’ll be surprised at the difference.Regards,

You know what, I followed the link I found on here about smelly washing machines.
I’ve thoroughly cleaned all the bits and pieces suggested and given it a maintenance wash as well. This might sound really sad, but I can’t wait to put a load in and try it out 😳
Off to sort me smalls! 😀 Cheers all!!!
