KeymasterI’ve got a Bosch WFF2001 – when I put a wash on it stops after rinsing and then the spin/pump light flashes along with the start light and it stops before entering this phase of the program. I can then push it on to spin and pump manually and it’s ok – I think!! Is this a blockage or something else? Any advice? I noticed another person on this forum has been having problems with this machine – are they one and the same issue?

I’ve just read in faq that this can happen if you’ve used a ‘delicates’ program – which I did and it’s been doing this since then – if this is the cause how do I stop this – there seems to be no button?

Does this problem happen on a cotton wash?

Yes, I’ve now done Easy care and coloured cottons – both at 40 degrees; it rinses then spins and then fills to rinse again and then when it should be going to rinse/pump the start light flashes as does the rinse/pump light.
It does seem to be ‘rinse holding’. Not sure how to stop it though.August 13, 2005 at 7:10 pm #144743Simon46

I would check the filter for blockages first. make sure the machine is empty first. May be slow to empty or pump failing. Check out repairs@ on LHS of page.

Thanks – we’ve just checked the pump filter, which seems to be ok. Did another wash and the problem is still there. If it’s the pump – is this an expensive job?

Pump replacement very common and reasonably priced. Click on this link for a local repairer : Repairs@

One thing I forgot to clarify – when it reaches the ‘stuck’ stage, if I move the dial on to a spin/pump program myself it does the job and the wash finishes. Would it do this if the pump was at fault? My husband wondered if it was something electrical.

Yes it would, the programme ‘times out’ and shows the Prewash light flashing and by stopping and effectively resetting the programme the pump then works………no mystery, just a clapped out pump as previously stated 8)

It’s not the prewash light that flashes it’s the spin/pump[ light along with the start light – then when you press the start button the rinse button light goes on and it goes back into rinse mode. If instead of pressing the start button I turn the dial to select a different spin/pump it then completes the wash cycle.

Update on this – got it fixed, it was the cold water inlet valve failing – new one in working fine.
