Bosch WFF2001GB/01 – Drum not spinning

Hi, we have a 6+ yr old Bosch WFF 2001 washing machine in which – as of yesterday – the drum won’t spin when we put it on it’s usual colour wash cycle.

The water fills up on start, and I can hear the switches clicking as usual, but the drum doesn’t spin. I’ve checked the fan belt and it’s good and intact, so I assume the problem lies with the motor or something?

Is there anything else I can check to see what might actually be causing this fault?

If you remove motor and check brushes, Im sure you will find them worn down (App 1.5″).
Use the link below to find a pair, original p/no is 154740.
Un plug appliance before attempting repair :plug:

Hi,

I’ve got the back off the washing machine. Any suggestions where I can find instructions on how to remove the motor? Don’t want to damage it or anything trying to get it off. Sorry if that’s a silly question or anything.

No problem. Actually, was just going to edit my post to say I found some instructions online at http://www.howtomendit.com/answers.php?id=1800. Will see how well it goes, but if I get stuck or don’t think I can do it, I’ll take your advice.

Update: Got the motor out OK and checked the brushes – both worn down to approx. 3/8ths of an inch (or 1cm). Have ordered replacement brushes from Shop@. Many thanks for your help.

Glad you sorted David, just gets a bit worrying when you get asked a basic task to change brushes thats all. Just trying to keep you and whoever else reads this post safe.
