ParticipantI have a 1999 WFK 2801GB Bosch washing machine.
It’s currently in a state where after switching on power
– there’s a quiet relay click then a clunk as the door locks when START is pressed
– the LED displays remaining time as normal
– nothing more happens. No noises etc
– then after 60s there’s a 06 error with wash/rinse leds flashing.I’ve had some limescale problems before, but in recent years have been doing a monthly soda crystals+90 deg.C wash which is keeping things clean. I checked out the hoses I could access, and the waste trap & pump and limescale was near non-existant.
I also checked the pressure vessel & pipework going down there. All fine.
Before I’ve had issues with fill/empty, or the motor where you could hear the relay, but no spin as the brushes had gone, or a cycle “hang” where the cause was the pressure vessell but not this refusal to do anything.
My theory is that it’s the door interlock.
I removed the door lock which has 3 pins. It seems as if 240V is applied across 2 pins which causes the metal bar to lock the door in place.
There’s a 3rd pin which presumably is used to feedback the fact the door is locked.
When tested with a meter, and manually pulling this bar across & cannot get continuity between this third pin and either of the others, so I’m thinking this is teh fault. Assuming it is continuity rather than inductive.
Comments?
Thanks

This is the lock I’m referring to (and am very close to ordering for a punt)

Went to collect this part from a local retailer & it’s changed from the one I have,.
It looks like a swap in replacement, although there’s an extra “hook” switch on it.
retailer is contacting Bosch tomorrow to clarify the history of this part number.
Anyone have experience with this?
Also wondering about the electrical connections. I can measure 240V across 2 pins. wondering about connecting third pin to one of the others to test my theory, but reluctant in case it blows something.

Replacement lock didn’t help. Pressure sensor is ok, checked all cabling – not a clue now except a circuit board failure.
Taken the decision that at just over 10 years old to buy a new machine rather than call service engineer.
