ParticipantI have the above machine and it’s not draining. Weird noise coming from it too. How do you remove the pump from this machine. I have tested the impellor and runs freely and spins round when tested after manually emptying machine via drain hose so think it might be the motor that runs the pump?
I have turned machine on its side and can see it’s an askoll motor that drives the pump.
My question is how do I get the b****y thing out to check it?This machine is about 8yrs old and runs 3 times a day – 3 kids, 2 dogs you get the picture lol !!!!!
I would so love anyone who could shed just a little light for me cos I’m skint at the mo and can’t afford new machine and this is my baby -I’ve only had to change carbon brushes twice and goes like new so need advice on the pump as I fear it;s Had it !!!!!!
Thanks in millions to those who reply – Ta !!!

actually my father has got pump out but we think now its the supply to pump is not constant. With pump connected it starts off whirring round then stops. What could this be? My dad has gone to test the pump with constant supply going to it to see if it goes continuously. He thinks there is a fault with power going to pump ie the power is interrupted.
any ideas guys? could this be pcb fault. Machine is 8yrs old at least and goes 3 times a day sometimes 4 every day

Couple of points, Linda. The pump should not spin freely – it should resist then “ping” over every quarter revolution. There should be no appreciable lateral play on the impellor if you try to wag it side to side. My money would be on the pump motor simply being very tired and worn out.
A replacement may be found HERE.

thanks penguin
pump removed and connected to mains supply and runs continuously with no problem. Volt meter connected to supply cable on machine and machine selected to drain. Voltage observed to be 230 – 240 but after a minute or less maybe voltage drops off completely.
So what’s controlling the supply to the pump?
Is it worth fixing and how expensive?Ta guys

Participantwhat penguin says is correct
its controlled by the main control board, and it aint cheap
you should never live test , either on or off the machine, but to clarify, running the pump on the machine, and running it off are 2 different things
just take some good advice and change the pump

Participantoh, and ill tell you why before you come at me with ‘it runs ok off the machine’
it will drop off after a minute cos the machine ‘fails to activate the pump’
yes they are that clever, they know the pumps not there

Participanti still think itll just be the pump

ParticipantOK , first things first – The reason the voltage drops off after 1 minute when drain is selcted is because thats how long the drain cycle is……when the appliance is empty. It will vary if the appliance has water in it but once the machine detects is empty , it runs on for approx 60secs and then stops .
Before you go and buy a new machine , have you checked all the hoses and drain connections to make sure that there’s no blockage anywhere ?
The noise , without actually hearing it , could just be an aging pump that you’re now paying more attention to as you have a problem.
In 8 out of 10 circumstances of machines i visit , its a blockage somewhere thats causing the problem

ok I have ordered a new pump from this site 😀 It was only 15 quid and that’s definitely worth trying right?
Thanks for your posts – this site is brill 😀
I’ll let you know the outcome if it was the pump after all
