ParticipantVirtually every motor brush change I do on this range of fecking machines results in spin failure, a very short spin or the display showing 1 minute only 2 minutes after showing 15!!!
What is the definitive answer to this stupid problem? It cannot surely mean the armature has failed because the brushes are worn out; or can it? I am using genuine Bosch brushes and clean the commutator but this seems to make little difference to the outcome. 👿
I have posted this problem some time back and the general concensus that time was to fit genuine brushes.
Any further ideas?? Or is it new motor time? Thanks,
Steve.

I posted on this too, Steve. Armature breaking down seems to be the answer….. 🙁
I’ve had loads which accept the brush change, then throw a segment 3-4 months later as well – try selling that one to the customer.

Hi Chris: Hi Greg!!
My suspicions are confirmed. 👿
I don’t think she’ll go to a motor. There was talk about changing it for an ISE 5; but my delivery is stuck on a broken down van somewhere……. 😥 😥
Can things get any worse?? Oh, yes – it seems they can – I’ve got a Hotpoint WF860 with flashing fault code tomorrow morning. 😡 😡 I can’t wait…….Thanks,
Steve.

I never clean them up, fit gen brushes, had very few problems.
Was put off cleaning after being called out to many “engineer” customers cleaning the old Hotpoint GEC motors. They always ran much worse. Just my opinion, anyone else had similar?Cheers
