…in my work, I have to put car mats and very heavily soiled dusters into the Bosch. However I find that it does not allow enough water into the drum to wash some items effectively. This often results in poor washing results and dirty scum round the door seal as the small amount of water used is saturated with dirt. This was hardly ever a problem with my old Zanussi.

I don’t think this is a fault with the machine itself but a design brief to make the thing get a “A” grade energy rating.

However I have seen some Bosch machines with a button to let extra water into the drum. Is there an upgrade, or software modification that can be carried out to my machine to do this, as I sometimes have to manually add more water.

    Hi
No software upgrade as it is sufficient water for “normal” wash loads.
I cannot recommend washing car mats, bathroom mats etc in any domestic washing machine, they are not built for it and will result in early failure regardless of make.
