The heater is open circuit. I can see that the bolt and the terminals are easy to reach from below, but can anyone tell me if there’s room to get the element into its hole, or do I need to take the front off the machine?

The machine is 9 years old, so I’m thinking I’ll bin it if this is a difficult job?

Front panel off – 2 screws at the bottom, one in the soap drawer opening. Slip band from door seal and release it, whole thing will come away.

Why on earth would you ‘bin’ a perfectly good machine just because it needs a heater? Even if you had to get a pro in to repair it it would make more sense than throwing it out. You would have to spend in the region of £450 to £500 to get something as good.

Front panel comes off easily enough, screw behind soap drawer, and screws along bottom edge, release door seal retaining wire and door interlock and the front comes off in under a minute.
