Participanthi…i’m hoping someone can give me a clue…..i just replaced the bearings on a bosch wfl245s w machine as the belt was coming off…on the following first wash it got about 20mins into the cycle when it went into a fast spin for 1-2 seconds then stopped!now when i start a cycle it fills as normal then starts to spin fast for a couple of seconds then stops….if i leave it on…it seems idle but every 2mins or so it will start a fast spin for a couple of seconds…i don’t want to scrap it as i just spent ages doing the bearings….any help would be much appreciated…thanks…john

The wire connection to the tacho generator on the motor is broken or the tacho magnet inside the motor has cracked.

I figured that being as you replaced the drum bearings, most likely the motor worked OK before? Then logically you must have damaged a wire getting the motor off? On that basis then just look for a broken wire connection…….. 💡

hi martin…..no broken wires…i was thinking that as the machine started the cycle and then behaved normally for at lease 20mins.when it then suddenly went into a fast spin for a few secs – at first i thought it was the belt coming off again…maybe it’s just coincidence that it’s gone wrong just after changing the bearings….i’m thinking i should try a different motor…what do you think?….thanks…john

I still don’t think so. If those wires on the motor connector block have been strained in any way then the symptoms tell me there’s a loose wire there somewhere. Motors are expensive but a new wiring loom costs less than a tenner!

ok martin….one of the wires did pull out fairly easily from the motor connection block!..although not really loose(an end one-bottom)…i need a new wiring loom now anyway…doesn’t seem to be on spares list so i’ll make a spares inquiry in the morning…..i’ll be impressed if you’re right…..i’ll let you know….thank you very much….john
