Our Bosch WFLI2440GB suddenly stopped working today. There appears to be no water getting past the AquaStop valve. There is no water in the bottom of the machine so the float switch shouldn’t have activated. I have cleaned the drain pump and flushed out through the powder tray. The drain cycle works as normal. Running a normal wash cycle, a few seconds after starting, the live wire to the AquaStop valve receives 240v which I assume is the demand for water. Nothing happens and there is no water in the hose.

Am I making a correct assumption that the AquaStop valve is broken and I need to replace this?

    Thanks.

As the aquastop hose is around £70.00 I would suggest getting it checked out with a megger or suitable multimeter first.

If you remove the mains plug and take off the lid you can access the small plug leading into the hose to test the aquastop for resistance and continuity.

Live testing is not advisable and is not needed in this instance.

Funnily enough I had this exact fault on a machine only last week.

Thanks, I’ll try this when I get home tomorrow.

Was it the AquaStop hose at fault in your case?

Yes, it was open circuit, it was badly crushed due to a typically bodged kitchen fitting. :rolls:

The machine will work OK with a bog standard fill hose attached but you would then have no flood protection.

    Re: Bosch WFLI2440GB Not Filling

Okay, with the machine disconnected from the electrical supply and the plug to the AquaStop hose disconnected, I probed the two wires going to the AquaStop valve. In continuity mode the meter gave me a reading of 174 (Ω ?) with no buzzer and in resistance mode the reading was 136 Ω.

Does this mean it is okay? Sorry but my electronics knowledge is somewhat limited but it seems that there is continuity.

I think that I’ll try to get hold of a standard hose and try that as well. I’m more at home with the more mechanical approach to solving problems, I think.

    Re: Bosch WFLI2440GB Not Filling

There is a possibility that the inlet valve inside the machine has failed, far more common than the aquastop TBH.

Does look as though the aquastop hose may be OK but it could be a sticking valve inside the aquastop.

Trying a standard hose would eliminate the internal fill valve if it then works OK.

Has the machine been moved recently ? I have had a couple where the floor pan has been slightly buckled upwards after being moved and its this bent pan that causes the flood protection microswitch to operate.

    Re: Bosch WFLI2440GB Not Filling

I’ve connected a standard hose and the machine works fine so it looks as if it some element of the AquaStop system has failed. We hadn’t moved the machine, it just stopped working.

I’m a bit stumped really because the fact that there is a resistance measurement would seem to indicate that there isn’t an electrical problem with the hose. The fact that there is an electrical signal being sent to the hose when the machine wants water seems to indicate that the flood switch hasn’t tripped and is working normally. I am guessing that there is a mechanical problem with the valve in the hose but I’m not sure I want to risk paying £70 for a new one to find out.

I don’t have access to technical specs, being a consumer, but the fact that you are still getting continuity does not mean the solenoid is working. In fact, it could well be shorted.

I have an Aquastop machine, but am not at home until late on Friday – will measure resistance on my working Aquastop and let you know then, if it helps.
