I have a 10 year old bosch wfm3030 gb/04. The drum now does not rotate during wash, rinse or spin. I took the motor out and cleaned the armature with meths as it was very sooty worn and rough. Its done a couple of washes ok but stopped again. I`m guessing its the brushes(there`s about 5-10mm left) but I can`t work out how to remove them. Could the armature be too worn anyway?

Official repair was to fit the brush plate with new carbons complete. P/no was 092025, but there is no longer a price listed. Last one I recall was around £45. Dismantling the motor is the only way to fit it.

An email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk may reveal whether loose brushes to fit the brush plate are available.

    Power off before dismantling anything.

Not sure where you get that price from Greg but 096331 is listed as £54:64 on the BSH website and I`m not sure if that includes carriage and vat.

Or a far more economical option if you don’t mind stripping the motor:
