ParticipantHi
Spent the morning so far trying to work out why this machine wont do a wash.
When I first looked at the machine the wiring to the motor connector had come adrift so I first of all removed the motor, checked the brushes and remade the connector.
Machine will rinse and spin but will not fill to do a wash. The soap is left in the tray.
Filters and transfer pipes are all clear, pressure switch seems ok.I can hear the solenoid valve or relay activate for a split second at program start but the machine then sits and does nothing. This is independant of program.
Would a fault on the motor stop the machine filling at this stage?
I have also swapped the valves for another pair I have from a spares machine and checked the continuity of the the three wire control cable back to the board which seems fine.
So far I think the problems lies with the PCB…ie knackered
I have removed the PCB and thoroughly cleaned all contacts etc and checked edge connections- there is nothing obviously wrong.
I am missing something?
Any help advice most welcome!
Regards
Chris

ParticipantHave you tried to start the cycle with the motor unplugged ?
Also faulty heater elements – element going down to earth – can sometimes cause weird problems on appliances.
The resisitance on the valve windings should read approx 3 – 4 KohmsWhen these appliances start up , IIRC , they will open the pre-wash vlave for about 3 – 5 seconds before switching to the main wash valve. Do you get the 1st valve opening briefly or is there no water intake at all ?

Thanks for the reply.
Tried without the motor plugged in and checked the valve resistances etc
Same problemMore detective work and it seems that bizarrely machine will fill with wash programs at 30/40 degrees, BUT anything 60 and above and click, thump is the sound the relay and valve makes.
Found also that the delicates wash continuously fills and empties…
Reckon the brain is well and truly fried…
Quick check on the Bosch website and a replacement can be had for
£117.48 plus vat plus delivery with no guarantee the machine would work. Will have to break for parts etc …shame cause everything else about the machine is good.

does it haot valve?
Not sure what you are asking ‘:?’
The machine will now complete 30/40 degree wash cycles (there is some
heat)No start at the higher temp settings and strange behaviour on the delicates.
just the click thump sound of the valve activating but no whoosh of water.
Got to be the PCB surely ???
Would love to be wrong!!!!
Thanks again

Does it have a hot and cold fill hose?

No single cold feed to two valves -one to wash tray chamber and the other to rinse/prewash
