ParticipantBosch WFO2855GB/01 washer. FD8305 701103.
Called to this machine for a ‘no spin’ fault: display showing 1 minute. Carbons worn to the limit, so I fitted new and tested the spin again. It will get to the low speed spin, display showing 10 minutes; then the spin is cut and the display shows 1 minute. 😕
I thought it could be the new carbons as they were a bit crackly at speed, so I cleaned the armature and tried again. Much better – now goes to second speed level – showing 6 minutes then the motor is ‘cut’ and display shows 1 minute. 👿
Will a failed armature cause this? The brushes fit well but they are still slightly crackly when the motor is accelerating. (all of the Bosch motors I’ve done before have been fine – even if they start out a bit noisy).Any ideas guys??

I had one recently which despite cleaning everything and even “pre-bedding” the brushes with a fine file, lit up like a christmas tree at anything over 300 rpm and set the valves pulsing to boot. New motor 🙁 .

Thanks, guys!!
I had a nasty feeling in my water that the motor was probably shot. :rolls:

I’ve had this fault a few times when fitting non gen carbons. Fitting genuine bosch carbons has always cured fault. Looking at old carbons will always tell you if armarure is faulty in motor, look for burned trailing edge. This works on all carbon brush motors & saves a lot of time cleaning faulty armatures. Bosch carbons are cut more accurately and is why the machine does not abort spin.
