ParticipantHello again,
FD8302701701
as above have a Bosch Exxcel 1400 Express thats decided it dosent want to drain…
Have had it a couple of times, flashing spin led as it has failed to drain 🙁
I would have said the pump was ok, as it has the normal resistance to turn etc. runs when viewed through the open filter, but it just wont keep pumping away the water 🙁 (it does very very very slowly)
Its an Askoll art.29046
cod 5500003078
M50
230v 30w .22A unit.Ive stripped and cleaned the rubber float chamber and all of those inner hoses, including the expansion chamber and there are no obstructions.
after retrying I realised I hadnt blown out the outlet, so I re-stripped, and couldn’t blow through (approx 3meter run) but after splitting at a joint i can now blow through the whole outlet, but still no pumping 🙁
is there anything else It could be ? or am I looking at a new pump? and if so is there a universal, or is sticking with original best?
Ok I know thats 20 questions, but suspect theres only one answer 😉
as allways, any and all help greatfully recieved,
Nick 🙂

Your machine is over 7 years old and if it is still running with the original pump and motor brushes you have done well.
There will be a date stamp on the pump likely 2003?A replacement Askoll is relatively inexpensive and easily available.
If it isnt the pump it has to be a blockage either side of it….and you have eliminated this possibility…right?
I think you have probably answered your own question…..buy a pump

Thanks for that guys !
Indeed I have fully stripped it out so no possible blockages, I very nearly ordered that pump yesterday as I saw Penguin 45 had posted it for another Bosch machine, but wanted to be sure 🙂I’ll give ’em a ring now…
Cheers, Nick
p.s. yes indeed, just about 7 years and original except for the heating element replaced last year (again Thanks P45 😆 )
Can’t knock it thats for sure.March 19, 2010 at 6:31 pm #315294IWANTBLUE

Ok… so first off Thaks to Uk white goods for their fantastic speedy service 🙂
Ordered @8 am , despatched by 9 am and delivered first post the following day…
Now for the “BUT”…It still dosent get the water out 🙁
I hadn’t had the back off as I had worked from the front, , so hadn’t cleaned out the pressure releif chamber (or whatever its called) on the outlet pipe…
This is now degunked, and flushed through the outlet pipe but i only get a low flow through it?flushed a couple of bowl fulls of water and got somemore scaley bits through, but still only quite low flow??
Is that normal? the flow from the pump pre the outlet chamber was a nice full bore, but obviously that didn’t have any ‘head’….
night shift calls so will have another look tomorrow I guess 🙁 thought the cleaning had cracked it, as the micro bore was blocked on the outlet chamber , presumably not allowing release of the suction, but thats clear now ??
any other tips please?
Cheers, nick

well after replacing the extension waste pipe (was blocked ) I had a nice full bore outlet 😀
However, two washes later I’m back to the not pumping out and flashing ‘spin led’ 🙁
Now about to drain and check filter again, but both times has occurred after adding ‘vanish’ does this product attack the scale etc , therefore loosening it and end up blocking the pump/pipework?

You could try a service wash at 90 degrees and collect the drain into a large bucket……this will give you a good indication if you are furred up

Thanks for the Reply CJ..
Theres a Nice roast Lamb Joint being prepared at the moment so I’m currently bannished from the Kitchen, I’m hoping some crud has been loosened and blocked the filter again(the simplist option), but have to go through the draining routine first to check so will have to wait till later…The two successful washes the missus commented on how they were so dry compared to recently, as she had been doing 2 spins…. unfortunately this early indicator didn’t get as far as me 🙂

well the culprit was a round 20p sized ball of fluff and scale that had found its way to the undersink manifold where it needed to go through a rightangled10mm slot…..and couldn’t….
I’ve left the new pump fitted as I couldn’t be arsed to change it back again but at least the missus is happy again 🙂
