is it time to junk this washing machine ????

is now 6 years old, and over the years have had recurring F03 fault….

engineers, and me cleaning all the gunk out of all the drain hoses etc, plus one pump replacement have cured the problem in the past….

but now have intemittent f03 error …

i have removed and cleaned all the hoses which has cured the problem for a few days before it returnned

last week i could hear pump trying to click in but wasn’t pumping, and a quick tap of the drain pump would make it spring into life

    so….

bought a new pump and installed it no problem…

lo and behold , after 3 days trouble free the error has returned

anybody got any idea what the issue is, other than the replacement pump being faulty too….. not likely really

otherwise, i think it’s a miele with a ten year gaurantee

F03 indicates as a rule that the alloted drain period has elapsed. Usually it is a pump failure or a blocked (or partially blocked) drain out system? You say you have cleaned out all the hoses and replaced the pump, well now it’s best you just run a test to see how quickly the machine empties? In fact it should be less than 60 seconds and if it’s slower than that I guess you’ve got a button or something blocking the drain outlet somewhere and acting as a gate valve no doubt.

The other thing you could check whilst your at it is the air chamber at the back of the tub. White clear plastic bottle above the motor, if that is gunged up you could get spurious error warnings like F03? 😉

Could it be a sticky eco ball-valve in the sump (if fitted) causing such problems?

I thought Slartybartfast did the fjiords?

Both posts above are valid – check the anti-syphon bottle in the rear left corner and the sink coupling (if appropriate) as well.

    hi guys

dare i say it or even mention it ……..

    it lives, it lives !!!!!!!!!!

i removed and cleaned the eco-ball, though it looked ok

it looks like the problem was the white clear plastic bottle above the motor.

i wasn’t aware this could be removed and cleaned as it looked like part of the motor……..

it was pretty solid, and the bottle was half full of water.

anyways i removed all the gunge and hey presto…..no more F03… well not yet anyways

    so……….

a big thanks to you all, a very happy fjord

    😀 😀 😀
