    Hi,

Some time ago, we were having problems with F03 & F01 error codes. These problems were cured by giving the machine a good old strip down and clean out including the pipes (inc waste that is connected to U-Bend under sink) and fitting a new pump.

We then had a problem with the timer function in that when the program was run, it counted down to about 7 minutes or so (nearly finished in other words) and then jumped back to an hour! – this meant the wash cycle started again without washing tablets or fabric softener and the clothes came out like cardboard and didn’t smell too healthy.

A qualified Engineer from Whitegoods (APG Basildon) said the front timer board needed replacing. Over 100 quid + call out and 6 weeks later (as special order part) this was replaced.

    Shock horror – same problem!

I’m trying to get in touch with the nice guys at APG to tell them the good news but in the interim, anybody have any ideas what the problem can be and how to solve our problem?

Means we have to stand over the waashing machine each time we put it on and move it on manually which is a pain in the bum as you can imagine!

    Cheers,

    PG

Due to the complexities of this machines operating system it is a tough thing to speculate what the problem might be? The facts are that effectively some function within the machine is ‘timing out’ and therefore causing the countdown timer to reset, possibly even restarting. Therefore various things need checking and eliminating, for example, checking the heater, the water level system and the drainage system for faults?

As the front module board has been successfully replaced recently, it is unlikely that will fail after such a short time so that can be ruled out when fault finding. I would suspect the fault more mechanical in nature than electronic and I personally would start by checking the above mentioned components first and go from there. I’m sure APG will do just that for you. 😉

    Hi Martin,

    Many thanks for your reply.

APG have called Bosch Technical and concluded that I need another module: 263105

(Already fitted is module 263168, which it seems was not required)

The 263105 is 165 quid but if I need it, I need it – at least if this does not cure the problem, APG will have recommended and supplied the part so it’s back to them.

I’m in a position where I have spent so much on the machine, it’s not worth buying a new one.

Will post results on Thurs when the new module is fitted.

I’ll also show the nice guys at APG your info too as this may prove useful.

    Cheers,

    Still no joy!

APG fitted the new module yesterday (that was recommended by Bosch Technical to APG) – problem remains – the wash cycle progresses down to one minute to go on the timer display then stays at one minute and keeps washing the clothes (mean-time it has not completed the wash cycle properly to get down to one minute as it has not done the final rinse or spin on the way down to one minute to go – if that makes sense)

We still have to press start and move the cycle on to final rinse (20 mins or whatever the time is for each spin then flashes up on the display) – it then counts down and finishes / beeps as normal.

APG have been informed, we’re waiting for them to come back to us.

This is proving to be a nightmare – anybody any other ideas what the problem could be?

We can’t keep replacing electronic module boards at 165 quid a pop although we should be covered this time as it was APG that recommended the module (via telephone call to Bosch Technical) and supplied / fitted it.

    Hi
Additional tech info sent to APG that may help them 😀
Please don’t ask details as I will never discuss another engineers repair online or via private means 😀

    Regards

    Greg

    Hi Gegsy,

Would never ask as I respect your decision not to discuss another Engineer’s repair – if you did want to inform me, you could send the details to my private e-mail address: pete.greenslade@tiscali.co.uk

Can I just say that I have absolutely no problem with APG at all. They have been marvelous. The Engineer’s are great guys (very knowledgeable experts) and the staff in the office have been very friendly and helpful.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend APG to anyone in the south east needing a reliable washing machine repair company.

My Bosch machine is proving to be a bit of a challenge to say the least.

Latest news is, APG are taking my machine into their workshop to comprehensively test and hopefully put right.

We can sort out the module (that was supplied and fitted but seemingly not required) at a later date.

Once the problem is resolved, I will post results in case anyone else has the same machine as ours and experiences similar issues.

Washing Machine collected Mon 21st May & “loan” machine installed (needed boil service wash as pretty smelly!)

Waiting for results on workshop tests on my Bosch……… 😯
