ParticipantHello. 😥
Can anyone help with the following.
Machine will not revolve the drum, no motor noise or movement just clicking as the machine goes through it’s program. Could this be as simple as Carbon Brushes?
Machine in constant use for 4 or 5 years now with no problems to speak of.
Can the brushes be changed in situ or will motor have to be removed and how.
Many Thanks.

Hi nubian
Its far easier removing the motor.
With the appliance unplugged :plug: of course.
If you should require brushes which it certainly sounds like, look no further than here http://tinyurl.com/furgj 😉
If you should require an engineer please follow the link below on my signature.Greg

The motor will need removing to replace these.
😉
A local engineer could easily fit them for you at reasonable cost (see link below) 🙂September 1, 2006 at 8:42 am #187152gegsy

Thanks Gegsy.
Brushes lasted from purchase in 2001 so had a good innings and you would need to be a contortionist to have any chance of changing these with Motor in situ’.
Very straight forward to get motor of and replace, thanks for the link re replacement brushes but I was under huge pressure to get it repaired that day so managed to get a set from my local repair shop £14.00.
I didn’t realise that brush failure would cause total stoppage of the motor so symptoms seemed odd.
All now back to normal Bosch standards quiet and efficient.
May be wrong part of the forum but any idea where I might get a hold of Carbon filters for a new Stoves 1100DCP SS Cooker hood, seems like many offer universal type but I am unsure whether these would fit and Stoves want major spondoolies.
Cheers again for yours Martins and Penguins help.
