ParticipantGot a customer with one of these which wil not begin cycle. She complained that the start switch got stuck in then problems from there. When start pressed display disappears as if power failure then reappears. After removing/ refitting module the red start light now flashes. Machine knows the door is opened /closed. Error 1 was also seen on the display. Is this likely to be the module?

I pretty sure it is, usually caused in damp environments which affects the relay on the board. Often the display goes out too then comes back on without warning (the display module will be OK though). Door interlock locks as a result of a module fault.
I’ve found sometimes warming the module area up a bit with a hairdryer makes it work fine (until it cools again 🙁 )

Participantno it is unlikly that this fault is the pcb, this fault is a common fault, it is the analogue pressure switch (the black on not the brown one) Part no 182238

An interesting diagnosis? I wonder why the pressure switch would cause the display to fail though?

Beever didn’t reply to my question over his Pressure switch diagnosis, but it might be a nice cheap easy option to try his theory out?

Still think module. when heat is applied to module PSU heatsink, appliance starts working bar spin speed ramp up too fast.

don’t know if i should post this here but my nieghbour has got a 2801.
i can’t get it to go and have suspected the module. here is the story.
arrived to find machine with water in.
tried to select a drain only and then a spin only. the on/off switch powered up the display but the start light flickered and had no effect. i subsequently checked the on/off swith its wiring to module, the door lock, the fhp motor, the drain pump. i also selected spin after removing the pressostat tube, still it would not activate the cycle.
but if i select a wash cycle (any one) it will lock the door, the display acts as normal, it fills up to wash level then nothing, nada, zilch. after this i again try to select drain or spin and it’s back to not allowing the start button to function. pressure is on here as this guy is a neighbour. do you agree that it is the module?
any advice will be much appreciated.
