    Re: Bosch WFS4030 Control board

first off turn the motor. if it click as you turn it then its scrap

if there was an earth problem in the motor then I would expect your house RCD to trip. you can check both brushes. look for 1 if they are worn to nothing 2 at the end that touches the armature is there any signs of electrical burning

then you can check the motor coils
motors can have a number of terminals. I expect 6 or 7. you will get a low resistance reading between A) 2 terminals that feed the motor armature B) 2 and poss 3 (if its a 7 pin motor) terminals give a low reading of the field coil C) a higher reading for the motor tachometer which is the last 2 terms

Ok – have been offered a brand new board for £70. The shop will not gurantee it unless fitted by engineer. Would like to fit it myself but again if the motor is suspect it may blow the board. What is you recommendation?

well if they are going to fit the board and take a chance it goes bang then I would let them if the price is right

they also have to take into account the fault on the old board so if it re-occurs quickly I would expect a refund because they should have accounted for it
