Hi I have a Bosch WFT 2800GB /13 washer dryer that has given sterling service for a good number of years. I came in from work the other day to a burning smell. I took the back off the machine and found that about a quarter of the commutator on the motor was destroyed. The bits were in the base of the machine. I have got an exact replacement new motor and fitted it and whilst it appears to work OK it is apparent that the spin speed isn’t what it used to be as clothes are coming out substantially wetter than before. Any ideas? I have checked that the belt isn’t slipping and tension is OK. Could something else be faulty that caused the original motor to die? Any pointers gratefully received.

    Many thanks

Have you checked filter is clear and is emptying ok?
By the description of the old motor there is a good chance you have a damaged power module (295666) around the £200 mark 😯

Thanks for the help guys. Filter checked and whilst mucky was passing water OK and pump out also happening. Looks like the power module it is then. Any thoughts on whether it is worth spending another £250 on a relatively old machine or better to throw it at a new one? Is there much else that goes wrong on these ones?

    Cheers Mike

It is a good machine and not bottom of the range, however without a crystal ball…………..but you will have changed the two most expensive parts on the appliance 😉 .

Thanks Greg that is really helpful to know that these are the two most expensive parts. Will get a power module.

    Cheers Mike
