Bosch WFT 2800 GB13 Washer/Dryer; Drum motor removal

Hi,

Any help would be much appreciated. I am having a problem removing the motor. I removed one bolt, the head of which was readily accessible from the rear of the machine, and this allowed the motor to pivot on the remaining fixing. The head of the second fixing bolt was only accessible from behind (i.e. was forward-facing). I removed this bolt OK, but the motor was still fixed to the main X-shaped drum support structure. It appears that the motor is attached to this structure via an interference-fit bush which is part of the motor assembly. Trying to release the bush by levering the motor housing out did not work, nor did re-inserting the second bolt and tapping the head of the bolt to release the bush. Any ideas please?

With the back panel off and both motor fixing bolts removed , the motor will just pull off towards the rear . You might need to support the motor slighlty to ensure it pulls off square though .

Many thanks for your instant and helpful reply. I will make up a jig to support the motor, and then try harder (being in my mid-seventies I’m not as strong as I used to be).

The motor is attached to a pivot pin fixed to the cast iron drum support spigot. Once both bolts are removed slide the motor toward the front of the machine in order it be slid off that pivot pin! 🙂
