Participant🙄 Ok plenty of obvious solutions to this one, seemingly very expensive, motor power board etc etc but before I take the plunge are there any basic bits that can cause drum failure? The machine clicks when the drum should spin but obviously the drum doesn’t want to know!
Newbie at this and would appreciate advice. 😉April 18, 2006 at 12:03 pm #173305Goatboy

Rather that a new motor, the current motor could be repaired with new carbons, making it a much cheaper job 😛
Try Repairs@ or unplug the machine, if your having a look yourself!

Any error codes in display at all?
Only other thing other than module and/or motor/brushes would be if the belt has jumped off.
power off first :plug:

Motor brush assembly 496876. This however requires disassemble of motor into two halves in order to remove and fit new unit.
Unplugged appliance of course :plug: when fittingPart available from link below

😕 Ok well theres plenty of carbon in the machine, one brush worn right down and not sprung onto the commutator, but still appears to be touching. Comm. black polished but still intact. Carbons on order.
There doesn’t sem to be a right or wrong way to re-assemble motor coil block yet one side has three wires to contacts and other side only one – does this matter? Brush assy does have three same numbered contacts to each side though).
Thanks for your help so far, hope it works when the new carbons are in!
Should I check out the power board while I’m inside the beast?
