    Call to the above Washer/Dryer as the dryer is not getting hot.
    Checked the heater which was open circuit.
    Great I thought makes diagnosis nice and easy but before i left I thought I would double check if I am getting power to the element and found I was missing the neutral. I checked the thermostat on the top of the heater box and this was OK.

    Can anyone tell me, if the element is open circuit, does the control board carry out a pre-check and prevent the neutral from going to the element?

    Sorry to bump this thread but wondered if anyone has any thoughts on this problem?

    seem to remember that could be the case. Had similar before, just slave on any old heater element to prove it.

    Just to update on this one,

    Returned and connected an element to test and I got the neutral so the new element is on order.
