    Bosch WFT2800GB/13. FD 7709 00206.

Set up the machine to dry on heat setting 1; press start button. Machine starts, drier fan runs, power to heater. About 15 seconds later, the pump comes on and power to the heater is cut. The only way to get power to the heater again is to reset the programme and start again; the drier element is OK, as is the safety stat. Tried the drier with the NTC connected and unplugged, looked at the PCB for burnt joints or components; cleaned the connections; nothing obvious found. The washer part of the machine is fine. 😕
Any ideas? Am I missing something? I think it’s the PCB power module (at the bottom of the machine) at fault, but I need to be sure before ordering it up.

    Thanks in advance,

    Steve.

I wonder what the original complaint was? Washing comes out hot, wet and steamy perhaps? If so the quad valve is suspect. 😉

Have you checked the bottom condenser hose for blockages?

    Hi,
Sounds like the NTC to me, never had problems with the power module.
I would try the NTC first as it needs the correct resistance to operate the dryer, disconnecting it is not proving anything really.

Had this again today on a WFT2806/13 FD8205. Power to the drier heater at the start of the drying cycle, pump cuts in, power is cut, no heat and the drier goes stone cold. No power to the heater unless the cycle is restarted. (The machine mentioned at the top of this thread was left unrepaired as she had a separate drier, so I didn’t have the opportunity to prove the NTC was faulty.) Is there anything else controlling the heat besides the NTC? Does NTC failure cause this fault?
Bosch washer/driers seem prone to this fault and also the one mentioned by Jim in an adjacent thread: ie; the safety cut out stat had tripped out for no obvious reason. The one I looked at had no fluff blockages anywhere, BUT- the fan motor would make a dry ‘squeak’ on run-down. So I have a VERY expensive fan motor on order- hope to goodness I’m right.
😳 I cannot see any other explanation for this fault. (I will try the ‘triac test’ though, thanks for that info).
Need to find the answers, guys!! :help:

    Thanks,

    Steve.

Recently had self same fault….NTC probe cured it.
The fan motor giving you a squeak is early sugns of fan motor siezure on the horizon. I would advise replacement of fan motor before total siezure occurs (probably after a holiday or something)

    Thanks for that, Kentish!!
Getting tetchy about ordering very expensive Bosch special order non-returnable parts after getting a Bosch module part number mixed up last month and consequently I now own a £140ish +VAT module I don’t need. 😥
Your help is much appreciated!!! Cheers! 😀
