ParticipantWent to the above today, clothes coming out wet after drying cycle.
Ran machine on drying programme, after 5 to 10 minutes still no heat.
Top off run again, no supply to heater, toc hadn’t tripped, but found drier element open circuit.
Did remove lid of air box no sign of a “blow out” on heater, so shouldnt have blown anything on the supply to element side. The question is……..will the machine abort the supply to drier element if the pcb sees no rise in temperature from the ntc, or does the pcb have anyway of detecting the element is o/c and won’t then switch the supply to element on.
Have ordered a new element anyway, and may have to dig deeper if the supply is still not there after fitting it.
Any comments appreciated.

I would imagine that the module senses no circuit and therefore shuts supply down? But really just guessing there Malc to be honest. 😕
It might have been an idea to plug in a water heater element off your van to see if that then gets a supply? (Bit dodgy that idea I know but you catch my drift? 😉 ) It would however complete the circuit and prove my theory right or wrong?
Was the blower fan working I wonder?

Thanks Martin
Yes blower fan working ok (I replaced it 18 months ago).
I did think on the same lines as you re testing with another element from van, but didn’t due to my other theory re no rise in temperature on ntc, might abort the supply to element. Suppose I could have tried that by warming the ntc. Oh well will x fingers when I go back with the element next week.
I will post here the result.Malc

ParticipantThe temp sensor will be ‘cold’ to start with so the element should at least get a voltage on start up.

It is correct, the heater will not recieve a voltage if open circuit. slave on any old heater to prove this but dont leave it on too long!
