    Bosch WIS24140gb/07 integrated washer. FD8711.

Motor brushes down to the wire. Armature had ‘shaded’ segments in one area; (looks like overheating); the wire had worn a groove in the armature and the house trip went out on spin. New brushes fitted – they sound terrible as the armature is turned by hand. Motor insulation checks OK. Reconnected motor and tried on spin cycle. Pump comes on then 20 seconds later the machine dies; lights on but nowt else.

All points to motor failure but has anyone had any module issues with these after brushes being completely worn out? I’m thinking a new motor will sort it but as I haven’t come across a module failure on these, is it possible for the machine to just cut out just at the point when the motor is expected to start up?

    Any help appreciated!

    Steve.

have you put a meter on the motor to check for open circuit ?

I didn’t have time to finish testing the motor after fitting the brushes as there was a very busy and impatient – to – go – out pensioner huffing and puffing in the background; you just can’t concentrate…… 👿
Just asking about module problems with these as both parts are expensive. I’m pretty sure a motor will solve it: there are too many pointers on the original to ignore. But doing your homework can sometimes help!

Thanks Electrofix for the response; I’m going to go and test it again before ordering the motor.

    Cheers,

    Steve.

Tested the motor today and the internal TOC has indeed gone O/C. New motor methinks…….. 😉
