I was hoping someone might be able to help. I have a Bosch WKD28540GB/03 washer dryer, approx 12 years old. When running a 40 degree cotton wash, at the first drain cycle (around 40 minutes in) the water doesn’t drain. I can hear the pump running, there’s a periodic double beep and the machine is showing an error. This is where it gets tricky though, as the display no longer shows all the digits I can’t see what the error is reading. It’s alternating between 2 ‘messages’, one starting with PL I think, and then the error staring with E.

After draining the machine manually, I then tried a rinse and spin and the same problem occurred, again the same with a fluff clean, but when I tried a drain and spin that seemed to work okay and it was able to drain the residual water from the washing. It also completed a full drying cycle which I think uses the drain function? I can tell when the machine is draining as the drain pipe is connected under the sink, and I can hear the plug hole gurgling (if that makes sense!) So it seems to be working during ‘drain and spin’ and drying, just not after a wash or rinse when the machine is full of water.

I’ve checked for blockages around the pump filter and hoses and all seems to be clear.

So I’m wondering if there is something on the machine that allows the release of the water at the drain stage which could be faulty?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

difficult one. If you are sure that pump is ok and that the sump black rubber hose has no coins nor at the connection with its pump nozzle and that the ping pong ball in the sump hose isn`t yukked up then check the dispenser to tank hose – picture gives impression it acts as a tank unit breather but not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure.
