My WTA-2000 starting blowing the house fuse so I took it apart and soon discovered that a charcoal thermostat doesn’t work very well and have now replaced it along with the element (just in case!!).

My assistant engineer, aged 3 8O, decided that the nice diagram that I had drawn the wiring down on would make a suitable base for her next masterpiece and now I am at a loss! – I don’t know what colour wire goes where and where the thermostat leads plugs into where and the same goes for the safety switch.

Can any kind person out there help?, I would be most appreciative.

    Thanks,

    Stuart

    Re: Bosch WTA-2000

    Penguin,

A big thanks for this – just a few questions.

I have 3 blues, one dark blue and 2 light blues (these are from the reset switch). Which goes where?

I also have 3 blacks – two from the thermostat and one from the power – again which goes where.

Any advice would be very gratefully received.

    Thanks again,

    Stuart

    Stuart,
    Terminal block goes:
    1 white/brown
2 light blue and dark blue
    3 not used
    4 black/white and Black (t/stat)

    Element
Far left pair terminals – black(t’stat) and black from loom
Right pair of terminals – red
Single terminal – blue from reset stat

Pretty diagram I made appears to have got dscombobulated.
    Regards,
    Penguin45.

No wiring diagrams available to the general public I’m afraid (for obvious safety reasons) BUT…what’s the problem, maybe we can help? 🙂

    Re: Bosch WTA-2000

My WTA2000 stopped heating and on exmination the heater ring had burned out. I fitted a new one (thanks to Penguin45 for his excellent wiring hints) and whilst it tumbles it still won’t heat. Nothing else seems to be broken. Does anyone have any tips as to where else I should look and the tests I could do. Thanks A_mba

    Re: Bosch WTA-2000

There are three thermostats on the WTA2000 – the “flying lead” stat on the backplate, the safety (or “red button”) thermostat, and the exhaust thermostat in the bottom. All should be normally closed.

Failing that, check the wiring hints above – you may have dropped a stitch.

Strange really – this was the very first thread posted on and it’s come back tol life!

    Pull the plug first……………. :plug:
