ParticipantNeed the belt for this model. The original belt measures 1840 mm (J3).
Connect give me a 1810 mm (J3) as an alternative. should I go for this or have they got it wrong? will the genuine bosch belt still come as 1840mm (J3).
Cheers.

Hold up guys!
This is an elasticated belt you will need here (an 1897EJ3 in fact) Fits Crosslee and White Knight CL412 (Connect part no BLT209) 😉

Maybe I missing something here?
The belt i have taken off is 1840mm surely a 1897mm belt will be too big??

Its a stretch belt fitted to that model Tim (no jockey pulley) as far as I recall?
Does the belt say 1840 on it or have you just measured its length?

Then I rest my case……it’s a stretch belt you have there my friend…try giving it a tug? No jockey pulley on that baby either!!!! 8)

You have completely lost me.
Tug what?
The original belt is snapped. I have measured it. I am asking what belt to fit. 1810, 1840, 1897?
Is the length of belt determined in its fitted state? or in its unstretched state?
Please clarify.

Easy Tim, try asking nicely….I’m helping you after all, your not slagging off your missus now!
Belt length is all important if and only if we were talking about a conventional J3 belt. This ain’t a conventional belt! It’s a bloody stretch belt…NO JOCKEY PULLEY……the broken belt you have there will easily S-T-R-E-T-C-H a normal one won’t….OK? 😉

How are you deciphering my tone of asking?
I was asking nicely, but directly, as to find out how a 1897 will not be too big. my stretched broken belt measures 1840. Now again, maybe i am missing something but if a belt is stretched over the pulley then before it is stretched it must be smaller than 1840 not bigger.
Please answer. 😉

OK….lets have a close look at your old broken belt for one moment OK? Now as it doesn’t rely on a Jockey Pulley the markings on it will be very clear to see I’m sure?………Have a shufty now….can you see 4213 078 50861 stamped on it? Then it can stretch like an elastic band if you try pulling it can’t it? Oh yes!

ParticipantRe: bosch wta3003gb/17
Yes it is a stretch belt, no argument there. that was never in question.
Let me see if i can make myself clear.
forget all i have written for now.
Connect say that an 1810 will fit this machine and a 1897 will fit this machine as well.
what is the difference in these belts. and what exactly does the length indicate? pre-stretched or stretched?
please answer. 😉
thanks for your time and patience.

No probs Tim, Connect are wrong in the bit about it being 1810, thats an overture by Beethoven I recall? The Bosch genuine is part no. 644833 and I’ve already given you the Connect equivalent haven’t I? 😉
Enough on the belt now please just go for it whichever way…gen is very very pricey (I’ve got a couple on my van) and Connect sell what after all is the more realistically priced Crosslee equivalent…nuff said I’m off…
BYE!

Buy a gen – 263197. It’ll be the right size regardless of what we think it is.
