Hello, I’d be very grateful for any help anyone may be able to give me:

We have a Bosch WTA3100 dryer, had it for approx 5 years with no problems at all, great machine. Yesterday the On/off switch began failing to engage when we pressed it in. If we hold it in ourselves the dryer will run, but it doesn’t ‘catch’ and as soon as we let go it bounces back out.

The instruction manual was no help, is there any way that I can get access to the control panel and see if there is something I can do to fix it before I call out an engineer (I have lots of washing, 2 kids and no cash).

I will of course unplug it before attempting anything………

Thanks in advance for any advice

If the switch will not latch home, it is due an internal failure of the component and should be replaced. From the left there is a double switch, one of which is the door button and a single switch. From memory I can’t remember which on is the power switch.

Anyway, p/no 154145 is the double switch @ £14.92 and 145144 is the single switch @ £6.70., The are plus VAT and P+P. Go to http://www.bshappliancecare.com to order.

Access to the top is via the lid, remove the screws under the plastic caps to get in. As you said, pull the plug first.

    Regards,
    Penguin45.
