    Hi Guys,
I know this tumble dryer is now 9 years old but apart from a few heating elements, a belt & motor capacitor being replaced has been very reliable.
Earlier this week it stopped heating & having checked the resettable thermostat straight away which was OK I decided to look into it further today with a multimeter to find out what the problem was.
So far I’ve eliminated the other two non resettable stats as they are both intact, the element is fine measuring 19 ohms approx, which is the same as a new spare one I have! Finally I checked the voltage between the incoming neutral connection at the top of the machine & both sides of the element & this is giving me 240 volts as expected when it is on so I cannot see why the dryer isn’t heating up!
Does anybody have any ideas as to what else to look into to try & cure this problem?

    Many thanks & kind regards

Have you checked the exhaust stat?

    Hi Martin,
Thanks for the quick reply. I assume that the exhaust stat is the non resettable one at the front of the dryer just under the drum adjacent to the exhaust with a grey wire on one terminal & a black one & yellow one on the other terminal? If that is the one then it has continuity. As far as I can see apart from the one above there is the resettable one on the lower part of the housing that covers the element & a non resettable one on the top part of the element casing nearer the centre of the drum & as all appear OK I can’t work out what the problem is. It doesn’t help that a lot of the wires are brown!!

    Cheers
