ParticipantHi, I wonder if anyone could help me with my Bosch WTB84200GB Condenser Tumble Dryer, it has been giving my problems for about 18 months now and its driving me crazy.
On the first load on a run the drying stops after a period of time the machine beeps for a few minutes and the symbol for the fluff filter/heat exchanger flashes. If I open the door for a few seconds and then close it the dryer will carry on and work for many loads until the next day. The fluff filter and exchanger are totally clean and the machine does this without fail every time on the first load. Every now and then I also get an E06 error flash up and the machine will beep constantly until I reset it.
Besides cleaning the filter and heat exchanger I have also opened the small trap door below the heat exchanger and cleaned out that area which is full of water but no fluff but but this also made no difference. I also sometimes get loads where by the clothes are not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} dry and are slightly damp, I do not know if this is normal or related to the fault I am experiencing.
Is it worth getting this machine fixed ie is it an expensive fix or should I just replace it? The machine is just over 4 years old 11/2016.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

ModeratorE06 seems to be fault with heating circuit
I assume dryer is getting warm
as for your fault its always difficult to say but the temp on most modern dryers is controled by thermistors that feed temperature information to the board
you unit has 2 of them. the front one which is about £11 and a rear one approx £30 (prices from Bosch site )
its well worth a go at the front one and you need to decide whether to gamble on the rear one
the way your fault seems to work is from cold the dryer faults out but once its warm its ok. Which tends to suggest a thermistor whos value is out of range when cold but ok when hot
parts here https://www.bosch-home.co.uk/customer-service/spare-parts-search
thermistors should be items 207 & 216
as a long shot have you checked the element? have had a few where fluff has blocked the element

ParticipantHi Dave,
Thank you for the reply and information.
Yes the dryer gets hot and the clothes are steaming if a cycle is interupted. I havent checked the element, is there a guide/instructions or video which shows how to access it?
Thanks

Moderatorno but its not hard
turn unit around and remove rear cover, note screws. the threaded ones use a torx 20 driver are at the top and the self tap ones use torx 15 driver are used in plastic at the bottom so note where they come out
the element is behind the cover held on with 2 screws. you can look in the inlet before you remove it to check for blockages. if its clear ignor, if its not remove and clean. its a bit of a pain as you need to be careful so can take some time so as not to damage the element
