I am trying to sort out a problem with the above tumble dryer.
The machine runs for between 5 and 15 minutes then cuts out. The main display goes blank and the ‘very Dry’ & ‘Easy Care’ lights light up.

The machine heats during the time it’s on.

The filter and condenser are clear of fluff and there are no apparent blockages in the ducts.

    Any ideas?

Blocked pump hose to water tank. Take hose connection off the back and at the water tank end and I am sure that pipe or the nozzle are blocked with something šŸ˜‰

I bet if you slide the condenser unit out and feel at the back that there’s water in the channel that lies behind…dead giveaway! šŸ™‚

Returned to this machine, no blockage in pipe but found a piece of fluff stuck in the inlet section of the pump.

Thought; that martin,………what a star :worthy:

Put the machine back confident it was sorted (don’t you just love them when they’re intergrated!

Test machine and………….still the same ā—

Should know by now to test the thing before putting it back but that’s what confidence does for you…

Ran the machine again and find it takes about 10 to 15 minutes and gets hot. If you try to start it straight away if will not run and flashes between the setting I was using and ‘very Dry’ & ‘Easy Care’. If I leave it for a short while it will restart but runs for a shorter timer. The longer i leave it the longer it will run for, which indicates it could be heat related!

I also noticed that there was an absence of any water in the sump so it looks as if the machine is not condensing. I have checked the ducts for blockages and checked the condenser unit.

    Any suggestions ā“

    Keith.

Just guessing now Keith, but brush contacts on drum? float switch operating? Are you getting plenty of air suction at the fan inlet, bottom right side?

I dunno what the flashing error indicates between the “Dry” & “Easy Care” so I suggest you give Bosch Technical a bell (0870 2426660) šŸ’”

    Thanks Martin,

Not sure about the suction, I know the suction fan and vent grill are clear as are the ducts through the machine so logic suggests it should be OK but will hcheck it anyway.

I have tested the folat switch but this doesn’t come into play as there isn’t any water getting through to that area.

Will Bosch Technical discuss this if your not one of their own engineers?

Sure they will and are usually very helpful and often have faxed me wiring diagrams and error codes on some problems I’ve encountered in the past…….Takes a while to get through sometimes (bet 3pm & 4 pm is favourite time to call).

This is why many of us do recommend Bosch/Siemens/Neff products so highly because they co-operate with the trade in total, and well for them I say šŸ˜€

    I don’t believe. 😯

Customer just called and said the machine works fine.

After removing the blockage and running tests, the machine failing, running further tests in disbelief then having it fail again I left the customer explaining I would have to investigate this further.
Customer has tried it again (I don’t know why) and it works.

    I can’t explain why but hey……it works.

    So I guess we’re back to…….. :worthy: ………. Martin.

Customer is going to use the machine for a couple of days (and boy will it be used) and if no problem cheque in the post.

You cannot ‘test’ an auto-sensing dryer without putting a load of damp clothing in it anyway, so I trust you had done this after finding a pump blockage? :lesson:

Yep, a load of damp sheets and it still cut out ā—

Re: Bosch WTE6920GB/01 T/D cuts out

    Here we go again……….. 😔

Customer just called to say the machine worked twice. The third time it stopped working (surprise surprise) and now there is no heat and the machine keeps bleeping.

My guess is the machine has overheated and the element overheat stat has tripped. I’m wondering if this fault may be caused by one of the temperature sensors. šŸ’”

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

Re: Bosch WTE6920GB/01 T/D cuts out

Not a scooby-doo without looking at it. Doubt if it’s the temp sensors, clearly it gets used a lot if she’s done 3 dry loads since last time you posted šŸ™„

I’m sticking with the pump/float chamber and blocked water tank hose fault again. Have you actually checked the nozzle that attaches to the water tank inlet?

Anyway, you have at least got Bosch’s helpline number now šŸ˜‰

Re: Bosch WTE6920GB/01 T/D cuts out

I got caught with one of these earlier this year, turned out to be the power board (the one on the side of the machine). Sticking relays I presume. Anyway, it’s p/no 267397 – Ā£122 list šŸ™ .

    Cheers,
    Chris.
