went to look at this dryer the other day, I released the drive belt to motor, on turning the drum it was clonking, but couldn’t find any unusual play on bearings, after releasing the drum slightly and refitting the clonking stopped, but customer tells me it has started again. any advice please. thanks john.
3 possibilities really .
1. The front edge of the drum is damaged . The drums are so thin that the front edge can get ripped away by a foreign object which leads me onto…..
2. Something trapped between drum and front bearing.Only way to really check is to pull drum out ( through the back by the way ! )
3. The rear bearing is worn…..although these will tend to squeak rather than clonk .
