Hi all. This condenser dryer they bought back from spain,it has been working ok, although using it with original moulded spanish plug in a british socket giving them no earth connection.
For a while now when switched on the start button light wasn’t flashing, ready to be pressed, to start the appliance. The customer said they would have to wait about 6 or 7 minutes before it would flash so they could start the appliance.
Now I was suspicious about the spanish plug, it had almost been forced in the uk socket. I replaced with a uk plug, and for a while it was working well while I drank a cup of tea. the start light was also coming on straight away when the dial was turned.
It then started to play up. It was going off, with all lights off mid cycle. It then started to delay coming on as the customer had experienced before. I’ve checked the wall socket, all seems well.
The customer said although it took an age for the start button to light up, it worked fine when they eventually started it.
Any of you come across anything like this with these machines?
I didn’t have time to delve deeper.

If the socket has had the wrong plug in it then the connections won’t make properly and when you put a decent amount of current through them they expand and break contact due to the heat generated by the contact resistance so I would be trying another socket before I looked deeper at the machine.

Thank you Jem. Yes I think I am going to have to be careful.
