    Hi all.
For a few weeks my Bosch Excell tumble dryer has started leaking from the front left. After investigation it seems to be coming from near the condenser unit. After taking the unit out there seems to be water droplets at the inlet (before the cooling plates).
Do you have any thoughts as to what this may be?
Your advice would be very much appreciated. 🙂

where is the water collected on this model ? Pumped up into drawer or gravity fed into a base sump that then pulls out
So basically do you get water from top or bottom

    Hi
    Thanks for your time.
The pump is on the left bottom (same side as the condenser).
Water is pumped up to the drawer from the sump.
Would it be of use putting up an image?

tbh with that type of Dryer, the water droplets run backwarsds into a sump where liftpump takes it up up and awayyyy ! Sorry ?
If then leaking from the front could be appliance not level by a mile, I mean sloping forward which I assume you have eliminated.
Liftpump not getting rid of water quick enough so maybe strip and clean as must be working or you would have told me no water in collection drawer
Could it be that the seal on the condenser is dirty or damaged ??
You could easily observe closer by taking off L/H panel
If it is the model I am thinking of there are 2 screws hidden under the console panel so you need to take that panel off to get at them and also another hidden one right underneath to catch out the DIYers ! The rest are obvious albeit different size TORX heads (some 15 some 20 ) just for fun
With this panel off you are going to see why water is accumalating there because in normal operation there should n’t be water anywhere near there in any quantity anyway

just reading that back when I say one underneath I mean in the base of appliance there is a screw holding the side panel aside from 2 screws holding that side panel which are hidden under the console panel
    You probably already know ?

    Re: Bosch WTE84307GB-05 tumble dryer

    Hi again.
Right, I had the side off already and had cleaned the pump, pump area, and recess under the condenser (a flap that removes for access).
The dryer is level, all gunk cleaned out of condenser, pump area and pipes.
The door filter is cleaned out each time as well.

Also the water starts to appear after 30/40 minutes rather than straight away.
The top container collects water and is a third full after a load, it is emptied after each load.

These are some pictures, hopefully they show enough info.. 😐

Apologies, I can’t seem to be able to upload any images.
Is there enough adequate information without the images?

    Re: Bosch WTE84307GB-05 tumble dryer

Are you saying the water is seeping out through the condenser porthole then dripping down inside the cover then seeping through the cover onto the floor?
Because that would mean water running uphill possibly driven by that fan ?
OR are you not sure where water exits ?
The thing is I cannot believe the water is getting out through the base as is a solid piece and quite thick
Can you not trace back a nice white calcium tell tale stain from somewhere?Get a good light in there?
Shame I can”t see that image with the black tape ??
At the moment I think the liftpump is cutting out when it gets hot then cooling down by the time you use it next so basically flooding that area and seeping out
Those pumps will do that Nothing else comes to mind – no common faults – the liftpump is the most likely to fail

    Re: Bosch WTE84307GB-05 tumble dryer

    Hi
I have contacted the admin dept regarding uploading images.

This morning I have just gone to dry a load and to clean the condenser.
As I pulled it out loads of water spilled on the floor. This was not from the actual condenser unit, but the plastic front housing which attaches to it.
The water was all underneath (between the pull out unit and the plastic housing).
It then runs out from the holes that you locate the condenser cover hinge into.

I hope this explains it better.

More images, that hopefully explain things better..
The water in the sump pit was there before starting the cycle, should that be empty at the end of each use?
Also the fluff etc is from 2 loads, which seems surprising as it was spotlessly clean.

    Re: Bosch WTE84307GB-05 tumble dryer

the lift pump has to be cutting out (maybe it has a thermal cut out )
By process of elimination, that is my diagnosis
You have done the due diligence with cleaning and levelling etc
The only thing left to do if you are still not convinced is run it with panel off and sit there and watch/listen for pump operation
Does it get noisier etc then cut out ?
Have you actually stripped that pump ??The bottom part looks like it clips off and could be a nice bit of fluff in there ??

    Re: Bosch WTE84307GB-05 tumble dryer

    Hi
The pump has been stripped, there is nothing else to come off other than the underside cover and pipes.
The pump does work and doesn’t seem noisy.
I just wonder why there being 10/15mm of water in the sump pit, would make any difference to there being water collecting between the condenser and the housing front.
Are they not separate issues….this is frustrating, I don’t know what else I can try. :bang:

    Re: Bosch WTE84307GB-05 tumble dryer

well I still think the pump gets hot and cuts out then floods the area causing the leak
Later the pump will clear some water as it cools down and resets but cuts out again and process repeats
Have you priced a pump ? If cheap then worth a try? Read back and make sure you have covered everything I mentioned, maybe you forgot something????

    Re: Bosch WTE84307GB-05 tumble dryer

Surely if the pump area was to get flooded, then wouldn’t it spill out that side of the unit, which would be noticeable.
Is the fact that the water is sitting at the entrance of the condenser, something to do with there maybe not being enough pull of air through it, and it is getting cold before the condenser section?
