    Hi

The exhaust vent on the right front of my Bosch condenser tumble dryer needs some cleaning and defluffing! I can clean the slits at the front but is it possible to remove this plastic vent to get behind it for some more thorough cleaning?

Is there a technique for removal, or just pry off with a screwdriver??

I do not want to be sitting there with two pieces in my hand if I force it off!! 😳

    Many thanks.

Bosch have produced many models, some of them manufactured by other companies on their behalf but they don’t recognise the model number you’ve given so i’m unsure of the construction of that particular one….

Just check that the number is correct first and then advice may follow….

Hi Clive, thanks for the reply.

The model is confirmed as Bosch WTE84308GB Exxcel – a Google search will find many hits.

Very strange that they do not recognise the model number!!

You will find it reviewed at http://reviews.argos.co.uk/1493-en_gb/4752141/reviews.htm

That is not a user accessible area I’m afraid and the slatted grill not easy to remove either. 🙁

Ah yes sorry…i cut and pasted the model number into Bosch’s website and it returned no results…

Just tried exactly the same procedure and this time it came up…two variants but essentially the same.

Martin is correct but if it is really fluffed up in there you need to clean it so two choices, either employ the services of an engineer or just go for it and prise the cover off. If you do happen to break it, it’s not a particularly expensive part (cover plate, part number 445593)

Maybe a small toothbrush and a hoover might be a good first try?

    Hi Clive

Thanks for that info. No, it is not too badly fluffed up, it is just that I like to see what is going on!

Not a major priority, so will ensure that the main fluff trap and the heat exchanger are cleaned regularly. It is two years old (bought off eBay) and the heat exchanger appears not to have been cleaned!!

Apart from that it is like new. Thanks for the input (and ref no of spare part!)
