F:06 = excess temp of the heater is detected….so i’d be looking at an airway blocked or the condensor all bunged up

Thanks Paul, is there any reset procedure for the fault code ? She says it won’t even start a program, just displays F06. Thanks Wiz

It’s got to be fixed first before the fault will ever clear. From what I gather you haven’t even been there yet and often as not faults never right themselves, not in this trade anyway. 😈

Martin, just asking a valid question. You know as well as anybody else that some of the newer Bosch washing machines have to have a fault code reset, so it could be the same for this dryer. Trying to be prepared and not look a tit in the customers home. How would it know that it has had an overheat when you first turn it on ? If it’s knocked out a safety stat, fair enough, but I’ve never yet come across a dryer that will have the ability to read the status of a stat, these machines set temps with thermistors which more than likely have given the overheat so, hence my question about a reset as the thermistors will be cold, not at an overheat temp when you first switch on, so it may lock out once the fault has registered. Update. Have now been to inspect this one. Shows F06 within seconds of turning the knob. Have checked overheat stat, wiring, heater, motor, pump and all wiring, all of which are ok. Meggered everything individually, all OK. Front thermistor reads 15.3k and rear 30.3k at room temp. Tried diconnecting each component from the pcb and still get F06 unless front thermistor disconnected when its F08. Occasionally can get it to run for a few seconds but then reverts to F06.
Anybody think of anything I’ve missed before I tell her its BER (pcb is 230 + vat)? Thanks Wiz.March 21, 2011 at 4:24 pm #347439wizard

Update #2. After temporarily connecting an old Hotpoint thermistor(purely to test) have found front thermistor has an intermittent fault. New one on order. Wiz
