    Hi everyone. Newbie here.

I have a Bosch WTE863B2GB/45 condenser tumble dryer, and recently it stopped turning and a burning smell was noticed. I investigated, saw the belt had snapped and ordered/fitted a new one from Bosch. However, whilst attempting to reattach the belt to the spindle of the motor, I noticed that the smaller fan had sheared off (I can’t attach a photo at work, but I’ll return later this evening to attach it).

My concern is that, if I was to order another fan, how do I attach it? The current fan looks like it is fused to the spindle in some manner, as opposed to clipped on, so how easy it is to remove?

And out of curiosity, what is the purpose of this fan? It is separated from “the outside” by a lump of insulating material, so I’m not sure how it is pulling/pushing air in or out.

It’s the front air inlet fan (replacement part no. 00650172) it fits on the splined motor shaft by a spring collar (part of fan).

    Thank you Martin.

Is it easy to fit for a non-expert like myself?

Once you’ve cleaned up the plastic off the shaft you shouldn’t have any difficulty.
