Bosch WTL 5500GB Condenser Dryer

Hello, Newbie here,
I discovered this great site a couple of weeks ago, when my Bosch WFF 2200 started to mis-behave following 8 trouble-free years. I am now using her as a semi-automatic machine, which I can run with for now and am sincerely grateful for all the good advise which I picked up from the UK Whitegoods site which has allowed me to get to this point.
Can anyone help me solve my current problem please, which is my Bosch WTL 5500 Condenser Dryer, stacked on the WFF 2200. Dryer is 6 years old and is set up to drain straight out to the waste water outlet. The production number is FD800900774. I loaded it this morning after cleaning both filters and seleted a “warm” programme for 70min. The minutes are counting down but the dryer is not turning or making any sound. I have checked the door is properly closed and covered off all minor faults in the manual. For the last 8 months I have observed that the machine does not like using Easy-care or Cotton programmes – it builds up condensation behind the control panel, becomes hot and shuts down) This is why I now use the special programme and additional options button for timer. Also the buzzer has become very quiet – I have checked the setting (A2) and its on a max3. I had the top off the machine a while back it was fluff/dust free inside. Is there any one who can shed any light on what the problem is? Thanks & best regards to all. “Top Loader”.

Have you cleaned the condenser recently? That could cause the condensation issues. The counting down with nothing happening could be a sticky door interlock. Try some WD40 into the lock opening where the catch goes, and open and shut the door a few times.
By the same token, it could also be the main PCB.

Are the condenser ‘elements’ free of fluff? This aluminium-slatted box has to be regularly removed, and subjected to a prolonged fast flow of water from a tap, in order to remove the accumulated fluff. Failure to do so will cause excess steam and condensation to belch out into the room.

With my Zanussi machine, I have also to periodically clean the cavity in which the condenser unit sits, as fluff builds up in the vicinity of the ‘steamy-air fan’.

Furthermore, despite what anybody says, a condenser drier still requires a flow of cool air from an open window. Should this not be present, the room will become hot and steamy – possibly causing wallpaper to peel from the walls, and the allow build up of mildew and moulds.

I disagree. A condenser dryer will create heat, but should not give condensation or damp to it’s surrounding enviroment.

could be the motor supressor (think thats what its called) if this not working then your drum wont rotate. the motor usually drives a condnser fan and if this not turning then that could explain condensation build up.
if its been doing this for a while then it could have easily damaged the pcb inside
