Have a problem with a bosch wtl 6500. If I put on timed program it will work o.k. but this program only gives a low heat by default. If I put it on any of the preset programmes it sets and starts o.k. does a few turns one way then a few turns the other way, the time clock zeros and the dryer indicates that the cycle has ended. I suspected that the dryness sensor was at fault but cannot understand why it will run on the timed program.

    Any suggestions?

    Cheers.

Just a guess but on timed dry I would have thought it will not use dryer sensor to turn off, just switches off at end of time. !!!

When you run it, do you run it with a relatively full damp load?
If only a few smalls or nothing in drum, it will abort thinking it is dry.
Worth checking the the drum sensor for wear and continuity back to module.
Make sure there are no restrictions in the vent system ie – fan turning correctly, lint filter clear and condenser unit is completely free from any blockages.

Cheers Gegsy, I didn’t think about putting any clothes in it, but thinking about it, after you mentioned it , it makes sense! I will try the thing with a load in it in the morning and let you know.
As for the carbon brush on the sensor arm, that is fine, hardly worn as the dryer is fairly new and has not had a lot of use. I suspect Gegsy has hit the nail on the head, but if not, I will let you all know tomorrow.

    Cheers.

Couldn’t wait! Just took an armfull of wet washing down to the workshop ( my workshops in my garden). Gegsy was right, put the washing in and it worked fine. Cheers mate!
